The question in play here is, with everything I have going on in the realm of Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir, why continue to bother with Syrah? Well, the answer lies in every bottle of Upper Crust. On the western, windswept end of Rancho Sisquoc lies a crusty mesa that is not to hot and not too cold. Grower Ed Holt farms my three acre section to perfection. The concentration and character in this stuff is simply too compelling to let it go.
