2014 Pinot Noir "Déjà Vu"
Bentrock Vineyard, Sta. Rita Hills
One of the things I love about Sta. Rita Hills Pinots is they tend to offer many of the more elusive characteristics that you often hear about with Pinot Noir, but don't always experience. This Déjà Vu bottling is the first in our release calendar for the 2014 Terroir Extraordinaire Pinots. When you pour this wine into a big bowled wine glass and spend some time with it, you won't be asking, "So where's all the sexiness?" Earth, cinnamon, forest floor, clove, and violets as it opens up; that's the kind of stuff that's in there with the customary cherry, raspberry Pinot fruit. And that's the kind of stuff that makes the Déjà vu section of the Bentrock Vineyard so special. This cuvee is more on the feminine side of the spectrum compared to Radical and Appellation's Edge, making it absolutely perfect for serving with fowl and pork.
